Wet means dead for cuban cigars
If you are a real cigar aficionado, than please protect your stogies in a humidor. If you don't have one, they are available in a lot of places and you can find a decent on on the internet too. Cigars (Cubans's are made perfect!) although built very nicely, they can't stand the fury that nature throws at them. Especially extreme temperature whether hot or cold or even water damage can ruin a perfect little Cuban cigar.
Another great advantage of having a Humidor is that you can let your cigars sit in them and the next time you try them, the taste would be stronger! That is right - you can actually age your cigars in a humidor just like wine is aged in barrels. Did you know that the infamous Cuban Cigar the Cohiba, has tobacco that was aged for 5 years before being used? That is just phenomenal and truly ads to the 'class' of a fine Cuban cigar. Their are many reasons why a Cuban cigar is so valuable, that was just one of them. Remember when we got something great as kids, we were told to take good care of it? Same idea here people, you have to get a humidor if you plan to be a regular Cuban cigar smoker.
If you are now convinced that you really need a humidor, let me stop you for just a few more minutes. After all, you don't want a humidor that you don't need. Now generally speaking, their are three species of humidors. You have the portable humidor, the table humidor and the biggest of them all, the room humidor. The portable humidor is what I like to call 'On the go' humidor. These humidors are designed for the person who likes to smoke for 45 minutes maximum and than go to the next business meeting. Portable humidors are also known as 'Personal' humidors. The unfortunate part is that you can only store about five to fifteen Cohibas at once. If you are more of a laid back person and would rather enjoy a fine Cuban cigar in the comfort of your own home, than you need to get your self a table humidor. Table humidors are well designed, mostly beautiful in the visuals department and you can store thousands of your favorite Cohibas or any cigars of choice. Now if you are planning to sell your cigars, than I suggest you get yourself a room humidor. A room humidor is exactly what it sounds like - a room that is used to 'maintain' cigars. You will only find these in giant or mid-sized cigar shops. Cigars in these giant room sized humidors are very well maintained and naturally smell terrific.
The lesson here kids is take care of your Cigars. Whether they are Cohibas, Montecristos or Romeos, you need a special little friend called a humidor to place your little friends in. You know they are worth it!
So what kind of humidor should you select for your cigar? It all depends on how many cuban cigars you plan to store and where you plan to store them. There are 3 main different types of humidors: Table, Room and Portable.Table humidors are something that you would want to leave in your living room as its the most stylish and also the most expensive kind.
