If you’re going to get started growing your own food, the first thing you’ll need is organic gardening supplies. Choosing to grow your plants organically is a great idea. It gives you the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself, and you have control over the entire process, meaning you know your food is healthy. With the right preparations, it’s easy to get started on your own organic garden, whether indoors or out.

Typically, an organic gardener, or any gardener for that matter, you will need some kind of a shovel with a spading fork by which to dig into the soil to begin to prepare it for planting. A pair of gloves is also necessary so that you can begin to take the weeds and the rocks out to of your soil, sometimes even with the help of a hoe or a pry bar to dig up even the toughest stones invented in your ground.

Other supplies that can be helpful will depend on how you’re planning to set up your garden. People who are looking for organic gardening supplies for an outdoor project will need different things than people setting up an indoor or windowsill garden. Container gardeners should buy pots with the eventual size of the plants in mind. If your plant is going to become large, it will need a large, heavy pot. Consider setting this pot on a wheeled platform early on if you’ll need to move your plants into the sun on a daily basis.

If you’re growing indoors, you don’t have to worry too much about pests and diseases. People buying organic gardening supplies for an outdoor garden will, however. However, organic gardening means avoiding conventional pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides. Instead, you’ll need to use natural means to deal with any problems in your garden. Fortunately, plenty of organic gardening supplies can be found or made from items you have around the house.

You will need a couple of applications per month of organic fertilizers. When a worm moves through the soil it creates a tunnel and this is called a worm casting. It adds nutrients to the soil and breaks it up as well. These fertilizers are a vital part of organic gardening as they will make your plants healthier and grow better.

Organic vegetable gardening is not only an engaging hobby, but it is also healthy and totally rewarding. If you plan carefully and get all necessary supplies, your jaunt into the world of organic vegetable gardening can be all that you are dreaming it to be. Just remember, that you will not have a successful garden on accident. Your organic vegetable garden will require some preparation and efforts, but you will see - it is worth it all!

The first step to organic vegetable gardening is choosing your location. Make sure that you have enough space, though too much is not required. In other words, try to avoid growing more than your family can use. Remember, growing an organic garden is not so easy and does require a lot of efforts and different approach. Your location should have a well drained soil that is close to your water source. Once you have your space, consider planning your garden’s design so you can arrange your veggies where you want them, before you start planting.

An important aspect of organic vegetable gardening is preparing the soil. This is because the fertilizers you will use in organic vegetable gardening are slow to do their job, unlike non-organic fertilizers. So, it is best to place the fertilizers into the soil no less than three weeks before you are planning to plant. Mixing the soil carefully ensures that all of the clumps of fertilizer are broken up, and have begun to rot in the soil.

Composting is a very effective organic way of enriching the soil. Compost can be made easily in pots from your backyard with garden and kitchen food waste. Materials like leaves, lawn cutting, pine needles, weeds, carrot tops, spoiled fruit and vegetable, animal manure and the like, can be used to attain good compost. The decomposition reaction of the organic material forms bacteria and fungi in the soil. This aids in changing over unavailable nutrients like nitrogen to ammonia and nitrates making it usable for the plants. This process is known as nitrification. Rock phosphates, natural occurring deposits of phosphorus in combination with calcium, can be mixed with the compost. Natural potassium occurs in substances like wood ashes, tobacco stems, seaweed, potash salts and ground rock potash. They can be also mixed for organic vegetable gardening.

Organic vegetable gardening starts with the soil you are going to plant your vegetables in - so, it should not contain any chemicals at all. If you have the slightest doubt, change the soil for organic soil found in natural and organic stores. All the seeds must also be purely organic, and to ensure this get the seeds from organic gardening stores only.

Pest control in organic gardens is likewise done in a dissimilar manner. Organic vegetable gardening relies in the theory of manageable pest levels. This model theory, suggests that the pests are not to be completely eradicated, but kept at an easily manageable level maintaining the balance and concordance.

Organic herb gardening, for those who don’t have enough time to devote to the garden or maybe you are a new gardener, is the garden to start with. If you have a small area, then an organic herb garden is ideal as it need not take up much room. Organic Herb gardening is a popular hobby and is so simple and easy to do, the children can get involved and grow to love gardening.

Naturally growing herb gardening. Having hobby of growing herb garden is calculated as an organic method. It will help you out to grow your favorite herbs in your garden, which will result in good recipes. It will ultimately result in good flavors.

Organic herb farm plans often use all three, but some limit the farm to one type. Some organic herb farms grow only one herb. Think about whether there are any organic herbs you consider “must-haves” and whether there are some you really do not want to grow.

If you start with the herb seeds, make sure you read the instructions on the packet first and follow them. Some seeds can be sown directly where they are to grow, others need to be raised in seedbeds and planted out later when they are a certain size. Organic herb plants are easy to take care of and are not bothered by too many pests. The mint variety should not be planted out into a garden as it will become almost like a weed and take over everything. But by all means, plant mint in a pot, I would plant all types of mint in pots, regardless of their variety. Organic herb plants can be grown in a window box, all types of containers, amongst other plants and flowers. Make sure that wherever you plant your herbs they have the right growing and soil conditions and of course, drainage. These organic herb plants have so many options for you, use fresh, dried or extract the oils. Oils from herbs have so many uses.

Well, the herbs added in these foods are known as culinary herbs. Why don’t you do investigate and get different type of herbs, which can be grown in your garden. You will start using your home grown herbs from your own place or herb garden. Then, you will realize, a vast difference in flavor as well as fragrance of food.

Organic vegetable gardening is gaining popularity these days. The main reason behind this is is people are more health conscious and are paying more attention to the food they consume. Also, in some places where food is not widely available, people have decided to plant their own vegtables. In this article you will find some useful advice on organic vegetable gardening.

As the name suggests, organic vegetable gardening does not require the use of fertilizers and pesticides which are known to be harmful to humans. It also does not rely on genetic engineering or irradiation. All organic vegetable gardenig requires is basic farming techniques like tiling the land, providing enough water and exposure to sunlight.

Organic vegetable gardening makes use of crop rotation that helps keep the soil fertile. This means that after the harvesting process is completed, something new is planted on the same soil. You can grow your own organic vegetable garden in your backyard, even a small empty plot of land will suffice. The fist thing to do is to decide what kind of vegetables you want to grow. Besides that you have to know how large these vegetables can grow up to as you want to have ample space when they grow up and ready to be harvested.

The next step is to check the condition of the soil. There are kits you can buy from the store to check its fertility. If the soil is good, then you can start by clearing it of rocks and weeds by mowing, pulling or digging them out. You should then add compost, bone meal or rock phosphate and greensand to the soil to supply it with nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. You can also add lime or sulphur to adjust the soil’s pH level only if you have to.

It is recommended that you till or dig in fertilizers using organic matter. Make sure you have at least an inch thick of sharp sand if the soil you use is made of clay before you rake the soil into rows. It’s best to leave the soil for at least a month before you start planting for best results.

Do not forget to use an organic mulch to blanker the garden. For this you can use ground bark since it will decompose over a month or two. Besides that, you can use a compost file made out of recycled leaves, grass clippings and kitchen waste as they all serve as a good natural fertilizer.

The organic vegetable garden will grow but it will be always under threat from weeds and insects. For that, you have to use other animals and insects to fight these pests. You don’t have to buy them because setting the ideal conditions will invite them in to your home.

A weed problem can easily be tackled by pulling them out. Besides that, you can spray some home made vinegar to prevent them from growing. To discourage weeds from growing between the plants, you can plant your organic vegetable garden thickly.

Having your own organic vegetable garden not only provides you with fresh vegetables but also vegetables that are free of chemicals and pesticides. This is vital, if health is your main concern. However, bear in mind that it’s not going to be easy and you have to sacrifice some time and effort to reap the benefits of your own home grown organic vegetable garden.

by David Peters

Composition is key in the making of a great photo. While many elements go into a photograph, composition can either invite the viewer into the image or keep the image one dimensional and without feeling. How all of the elements in a picture interact with each other through their placement develops the story and message the photograph is wanting to relate to the viewer.

Good composition can turn an average snapshot into a professionals photograph. Composition is comprised of many factors. Some simple elements of composition are the framing and cropping of an image.

Improving the composition of a photograph is simple through the cropping tool available in Photoshop. With this, you can swiftly cut out areas of the photo that you wish to be removed, or that take away from the photo’s subject. Photoshop enables you to measure the portions to by cut, to ensure accuracy.

A major benefit that comes with cropping with Photoshop’s cropping tool is that rethinking your photograph is never a problem. If you aren’t satisfies with your end result, simply start over from the beginning. The possibilities are endless to what you can accomplish.

Here are some tips for better cropping.

Rule of Thirds:

If you spend much time looking at the work of professional photographers you will notice that they rarely center the subject in the picture yet amateurs almost always center their subject. By moving your subject off center you can create a much more profession and eye pleasing image. Imagine lines across your image breaking it up it thirds and then consider cropping your picture so that the subject is in one of the outer thirds. Don’t be afraid to experiment but before you do make sure you make a copy of the original image and save it in a separate folder.

Cropping to Traditional Print Sizes

When cropping your pictures check the sizing to make sure they will print in a standard size such as 4×6. If they do not correspond to these sizes try cutting a little more off. Otherwise when you take them into print at the local lab the photo lab may have to crop them even more to make them print the right size.

Photoshop makes it so easy to crop your photos that you really won’t have to worry about the framing when you take the picture on your camera because you can just fix it later on your computer. Regardless of whether you use Photoshop Elements or the more advanced version, Photoshop CS, the technical aspects of using the cropping tool are essentially the same.

by Ray Lam

That of course is the general idea behind this article. There’s a lot of materials out there about composting and compost and the last thing you need is another one that explains the technical aspect of the process and the scientific basis behind the importance of using composts.

Although, I’m not denying the fact that technical explanations such as those are necessary as well, but it would be nice to hear or read something more of layman’s approach on the subject. Well that’s something that this article would like to do, anyhow.

Compost is much more than a fertilizer. Compost is a soil conditioner and compost gives plants the best nutrients and minerals that they require. Besides that, compost has the ability to contain water which is key to the survival and growth of plants.

There are several composting methods which you employ. The so called “no-turn” composting method is the easiest. Like what the title of the method indicates, you don’t need to turn the pile of compost at least once every week to quicken the process of decomposition. In this “no-turn” technique, all you need to do is add loads of coarse materials to your compost.

You will do just fine by adding a large quantity of straw. The role of straw is to create air pockets and also to aerate the pile. The compost will develop at the same rate as when you use the traditional “turn-over” composting technique. When using this technique, make sure you get your compost from the bottom pile. Do not forget to add some coarse materials together with your organic materials.

If the only available composting materials in your yard are piles and piles of leaves, then don’t worry. Creating composts from leaves alone can be done. You just need a couple of things, and some very simple techniques. Select a place where you will make your compost pile. For the leaves, the place ideal would be a well shaded area which will help keep the pile damp or moist. Also keep in mind that the pile should not be packed tightly. Keep it loose to allow the air to circulate.

In about four to six months, the compost from leaves should be finished and ready to be added to the soil. Do not forget that the compost created from the leaves does not contain enough nutrients and microorganism to function as a fertilizer. The finished compost, however, is great as soil conditioner.

When composting, you will need materials rich in carbon and nitrogen namely fruits and vegetable scraps and other table scraps except left over bones because they attract a number of pests and animals. Other products include eggshells, grass or shrub clippings, pine needles, seaweed and kelp, coffee grounds, wood ash, tea leaves, cardboard and shredded paper, corn stalks, wood chips, and sawdust.

To prevent fruit flies and other pests from grouping together on your compost pile, it would be best to cover the pile or add some lime or calcium over the top or whenever you add new materials to your compost. The lime and calcium also help eliminate the odors from your pile.

I hope you were able to have a simplified view of the composting and got some useful and simple tips from the article. Just remember that composting is difficult only if you want it to be.

Caring for your lawn means not just cutting it every so often, but like other plants in your garden it will need to be watered and fed regularly. So if you are someone whose lifestyle is somewhat hectic, using a professional lawn care service may be the answer. Below we offer some reasons why it is worth considering using the services of a lawn care, Tampa professional.

Taking care of a lawn is relatively easy to do, but you need to be aware of certain things if you want to ensure that the lawn at your Tampa home remains in great condition. Using the services of a professional lawn care company may well end up saving you lots of time and you don’t need to know the ins and outs of lawn maintenance.

Before anything else happens the lawn care service which you employ will spend time analyzing the condition of your lawn as it stands currently. They will look at the variety of grass your lawn is made up of as well as how dense its turf is. They will also inspect the lawn to see if it is diseased and what weeds if any are present, along with checking how it is being watered. Each one of these things are very important for them to take into consideration in order that they can then develop a maintenance schedule which will ensure that your lawn looks great and grows well.

After the analysis of your lawn by the company has been carried out then they will decide which of their professional services you need. Generally you will find that a good lawn care company will offer a wide range of services to you from weed and moss control, to pest control, to scarification. They will also carry out work such as feeding your lawn using a good quality fertilizer. Plus they will ensure that any diseases or fungus growing on your lawn are brought under control.

In order to prevent weed growth on your lawn the lawn care company you choose will identify the weeds and then carry out the necessary measures to get rid of them. They will use specialist products that kill back the weeds in your lawn but that won’t have any adverse affects on the lawn itself.

The mechanical process known as scarification is used by lawn care companies to get rid of any dead moss on it and to comb the thatch which encourages better growth in it. Also through this process water is then able to reach the roots of the grass more easily as well. Don’t be too concerned if after this process has been carried out on your Tampa garden lawn that some parts need to be re-seeded.

In order that pests can be kept under control when caring for a lawn the company you employ should only be using the best quality products that they can. However, before they start using them through analyzing your lawn they can identify what pests you have and then choose the most appropriate products to deal with them.

Many people will not employ a Lawn Care, Tampa service all year round, but will get them to show them how to mow and water their lawns correctly. Then all they employ them service for is to make sure that the lawn is fed properly with the right kind of fertilizer and to help with keeping pests and diseases under control.

Most lawn care companies will offer the basic services relating to weed, moss and pest control along with fertilization of your lawn. Plus some will offer a scarification service (which will explain in a little bit more detail later on), and also make sure that all fungus and diseases that can attack your lawn are kept under control.

To help prevent weed growth the lawn care company will carefully monitor it to see which ones are growing and then take the right steps to reduce them. They will often use specialist products that kill off the weeds but won’t be detrimental to the health of your lawn.

The mechanical process known as scarification is used by lawn care companies to get rid of any dead moss on it and to comb the thatch which encourages better growth in it.
What you may well discover is that you don’t actually need to employ the services of a Lawn Care, Tampa Company throughout the year. Certainly the basic tasks of mowing and watering the lawn can be left to you after they have shown you what to do. So saving you money as all they need to worry about then is feeding your lawn and keeping the pests under control.

There is more to caring for a lawn than just cutting the grass on the odd occasion. Certainly just like other plants in your garden your lawn will regularly need to be fed and watered. Therefore it is worth considering employing the services of a professional to take care of your lawn for you instead. In this article we look at reasons why you may want to consider employing a Lawn Care, Tampa company.

The first thing that the lawn care service should do is actually analyze the current condition of your lawn. They will look at the variety of grass, how thick the turf on your lawn is what diseases if any are present along with what weeds. Plus they will look closely at the kinds of watering you carry out. All of these factors need to be taken into account to ensure that a lawn grows well.

Once analysis of your lawn has been completed the company will then decide which of their professional services it is you require. Most lawn care companies will offer the basic services relating to weed, moss and pest control along with fertilization of your lawn. Plus some will offer a scarification service (which will explain in a little bit more detail later on), and also make sure that all fungus and diseases that can attack your lawn are kept under control.

In order to prevent weed growth on your lawn the lawn care company you choose will identify the weeds and then carry out the necessary measures to get rid of them. They will use specialist products that kill back the weeds in your lawn but that won’t have any adverse affects on the lawn itself.

Scarification is a process where using machinery the lawn care company are able to remove dead moss that can affect the lawns growth, along with combing its thatch. Not only does it encourage the lawn to grow better but water is able to get through to the roots of the grass more easily as well. If you notice the company having to re-seed particular parts of your lawn after this process has been carried out don’t get too worried as this is quite normal.

In order that pests can be kept under control when caring for a lawn the company you employ should only be using the best quality products that they can. However, before they start using them through analyzing your lawn they can identify what pests you have and then choose the most appropriate products to deal with them.

What you may well discover is that you don’t actually need to employ the services of a Lawn Care, Tampa Company throughout the year. Certainly the basic tasks of mowing and watering the lawn can be left to you after they have shown you what to do. So saving you money as all they need to worry about then is feeding your lawn and keeping the pests under control.

by Dave Truman

When you think of when you should plant your garden, most of us think of planting in the spring and harvesting in the fall. For most of the crops we plant this is right. But there are things to be taken into consideration such as plant species and climates variations.

For some crops it is helpful to plant in the fall because it helps enrich the soil for the following spring. And certain lettuce varieties can be planted late in the summer and still be harvested before the first frost.

When you should plant certain vegetables depends on the species and your climate zone. Get the best estimate possible on when to expect the first frost. Some good sources to find out information on possible frost are the 30-day weather forecasts and the Farmer’s Almanac.

Before planting new seeds or vegetables be sure to clear the area of any spring or summer crops. Leftovers decay and encourage bacteria growth. Spread a couple of inches of new compost or mulch over the area. Turn the top layer of soil up and water well, then let it rest for a day. Since in most areas, you’ll receive more rain (and sometimes snow) in the fall, be sure you have well draining soil.

Many varieties of vegetables will thrive if you take these preliminary steps.

Beets do well if planted before the beginning of August. If you intend just to harvest the tops, the date can be extended to the beginning of September. Try some Winterkeeper.

Broccoli can be transplanted until about mid-August. It will continue to thrive in most climates until Thanksgiving, when it can be harvested for a great addition to the holiday meal. In some warmer zones it may even last as late as Christmas. In fact, Italian broccoli can be planted during the winter in areas with no snow and will produce shoots until spring.

Fall cabbage planting is common in many climate zones. Jersey Wakefield is often seeded in the first couple of weeks of September and will winter over well. Then it can be harvested in late Spring.

Since carrots are a root vegetable and grow under the ground, it can withstand seasonal changes. If you plant carrots by mid-July or even in the fall, you can harvest them in the winter. It is important to keep in mind though that in very cold temperatures the ground freezes making digging nearly impossible

Endive does well if planted by mid-July. A light mulch will keep it protected from frost and it can be harvested in winter. Water drainage in the fall and winter months is much slower than in summer so it’s important to make sure the endive doesn’t get too wet.

Romaine can be sown in July, and then harvested in the fall. Since it’s low to the ground and very leafy, it’s important to keep it from being excessively wet. Fungal growth is still possible in fall, even though temperatures are cooler at night.

You can also plant some peas in early November and harvest them the following June. So with proper planning, you can enjoy fresh vegetables nearly year round.

Enjoy!

If you’re tired of cameras from Canon and Nikon, you may want to look into the Konica Minolta Maxxum series of cameras. In particular, in this article, we discuss the features of the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D.

The Maxxum 7D is a midrange digital SLR that can incorporate optical image stabilization with any lens. It has an Anti-Shake system that is remarkable in that it can be utilized with all lenses and also has a well-organized control layout.

The Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D is finished in a professional matte black comparable to most standard DSLRs. Although conservative in its angular design, it still looks good. The body consists of a hybrid of magnesium-alloy and plastic and is well-built and crafted. It includes a nicely contoured grip and feels sound. Without a lens, the camera weighs in at about 30 ounces, which is an ounce or two heavier than average for this camera class.

The Maxxum 7D omits the separate status LCD and instead relies on the camera’s main LCD to display shooting settings, which is an appealing design convention. On this particular Maxxum, the large 2.5-inch LCD has room to show more settings than the usual status LCD. These settings include ISO, color mode, and image parameters, to name a few.

The optical system of the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D has clearly been carefully thought out to make it possible to take great photos. The digital camera comes with a 6.1 megapixel resolution and an Anti-Shake device.

The Anti-Shake device averts picture blur caused by camera movement. This mechanism is in the Maxxum 7D’s body, working by shifting the CCD, so it operates well with all Konica Minolta autofocus (AF) lenses.

In addition, the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D’s sophisticated AF system incorporates nine focus points. You can designate the active point yourself or leave all of them active and let the camera decide which to use from shot to shot. You can also set the camera to automatically switch to continuous or tracking AF operation if it detects subject movement.

Many exposure features are to be had on the Maxxum 7D. These include all four customary exposure modes; three light-metering modes (14-segment honeycomb, center-weighted, and spot); ambient exposure compensation either in half-EV increments to plus or minus 3EV or in one-third-EV increments to plus or minus 2EV. The sensor’s sensitivity can be set to auto or from ISO 100 to ISO 3,200 in 1EV increments.

Ok, now let’s look at the user controls for the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D. As should be the case with a serious shooter’s camera, most important features are controlled via dedicated external buttons, rather than being buried in the menu system.

Exposure adjustments and some other shooting settings are controlled with thumb and forefinger command wheels. The white-balance control, a rotating switch surrounding a button that cleverly accesses numerous menu choices, is the quickest and most flexible I’ve seen.

Flash setting or ambient exposure compensation can be controlled with a dial on the camera’s top left side, but can also be made using the forefinger wheel, which I found to be more proficient. Overall, control placement and operating efficiency on this camera are among the best I’ve seen on any DSLR.

The Konica Minolta 7D’s noted battery life is more or less adequate for a full day’s shooting. If you are reliant on a long battery life, you can always take along some extras that can be purchased at your neighborhood camera store.

The Nikon D70s allows your pictures to be stored in CompactFlash Type I/II memory cards cards. You can also use a MicroDrive if you wish. Pictures are easily transferred from the camera to the PC via the USB 2.0 interface.

Of course there are some quirks I noticed in the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D, and of course you want to know what they are. One such peeve is that the camera is slow to start-up. You are also restricted to one JPEG compression ratio in raw-plus-JPEG, and there is no way to avoid noise reduction processing in high ISO images.

I do hope this review of the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D has been of help to you. If you’re looking for a decent professional SLR camera to take shots with, then the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D might be tough to beat. Of course, do your own research first before shelling out your cash. Happy shopping!

Roses are very beautiful flowers loved by many people across the world, the rose has always been a symbol of love and affection. With the sweet smell and the beautiful flowers these plants produce it is quite impossible not to have some type of rose plant in your garden.

PHC is a strategy of keeping roses stress free by different factors allowing the growth and maintenece of the plant. The results of PHC is that rose bushes in a healthy condition are less likely to get infested by insects and diseases than other plants under stress.

In the first 20 or so days after planting your roses they need to be watered daily to help the rose grow. Fertilizers must be used to give your plant a head start. Most fertilizers can be purchased from many different flower nurseries.Plant your roses about one inch below crown level and then tamp the soil in and around it,do not damage the root ball and alway’s keep the crown uncovered.

With a little bit of effort and care you will have excellent looking rose bushes with large blooms that will last for most of the summer. When you have established roses it is nice to prune or cut a few and put them in a vase.Beware not to prune or cut too many stems of your new rose bushes as they need time to grow successfully.

Different types of roses need to be planted a few feet away from each other allowing them to grow correctly. When planting bare root roses first check that the soil has a good ph, you may need to add a little lime.Early spring is the best time to transplant roses or plant new one’s.Cut the roses into shape, remove dead leaves as this will help the air to circulate around the plant more easily.

Remove a few of the old stems at the base of established climbers to stimulate new growth. If fungal disease is prevalent in your area, spray while dormant with Bordeaux mix, lime sulfur, or horticultural oil. Gardeners in the South and West may wish to fertilize monthly from early spring until June, resuming in August and September.

Mid-Spring: Watch for rose slugs and either handpick, spray with a superfine horticultural oil, or use a systemic insecticide. Fertilize roses again after the first flush of flowers. Watch for shoots coming from the rootstock below the graft and remove. After the soil warms, apply a generous layer of organic mulch.

Living in a cold climate that has harsh winters can cause roses to die if not properly protected from the cold. When the ground freezes just mould earth around the base of the plant and then add evergreen boughs. Small climbing roses can be detatched from their supports put on the gound then covered with earth this will protect them from very cold winters.

The dictionary defines patchwork quilting as a quilt made by sewing patches of different materials together. That is fine, but what makes a quilt and example of American patchwork quilting? Does it simply have to be made in America, or is there more to it than that? Some basic research reveals that true American patchwork quilting is its own distinct style and has been generally recognized as a form of art. Recently, this craft has been resurrected and put American patchwork quilting back into widespread use and acceptance.

American Patchwork Quilting Revival

Throughout the mid eighteen hundreds right up into the early twentieth century, American patchwork quilting was an extremely popular and iconic craft. However it slowly died out as people purchased mass produced and more cost effective blankets. Sometime in the mid 1960s a quilt revival was started that has continued on to present day.

One of the fundamental spirits and ideals of the 60s was freedom from corrupt and morally wrong corporations. American patchwork quilting represented a good way to manufacture a useful product without help. This grassroots, fundamental handy craft found great champions in the youth of America that were looking to go against everything their parents represented, including the ideology that American patchwork quilting was old fashioned. After the 60s, the Bicentennial saw many Americans looking to traditions of the past.

The American patchwork quilt was a great representation of this era. In addition, feminist movement began to see these quilts as representations of artwork long underappreciated. Older traditional quilts represented some of the most beautiful pieces of art from this period. These quilts represented the history and values of their silent craftsman with old quilts becoming collectors items. As people rediscovered this art they began to start exploring making quilts outside the traditional realm.

New fabrics, materials, and ideas of what a quilt truly was, were beginning to find there ways into patterns and styles of the quilts being made. While these radical new quilts were generally not widely accepted, as time moved on more people began to appreciate the works of some of the more innovative quilt makers from the 60s and 70s

So what defines an American patchwork quilt? Well, that is not a simple question to answer as it changes from era to era. The one thing that stays consistent is that American patchwork quilting is a representation of ideas of the person fashioning the quilt, and is almost never some random collection of patterns.

Spring is on its way and many people are looking forward to planning and planting their vegetable garden. There are so many options, it can be hard to know what to choose and from whom to purchase your seeds. Because there are so many online vegetable seed companies to pick from, the choices can be overwhelming. This article will help to point you in the right direction.

Buying vegetable seeds online can be a very good choice. Many companies do not package their seeds ahead of time, which helps the seeds stay fresh longer. Likewise, many stores will ship the next day so you are guaranteed quick delivery. You will also find a very large selection of seeds that you may not be able to find at your local store. Even greenhouses or nurseries cannot provide a comprehensive array of viable vegetable seed options. If you are looking for that rare organic tomato seed, chances are you can find it online.

Most online vegetable seed companies offer some type of warranty. Some say that if a seed does not produce within a certain time frame, they will refund your purchase price or replace the item. This is the most common type of warranty you will come across. Other guarantees say that they will refund your money if you are not satisfied for any reason. Regardless, make sure you understand the terms before you buy.

Prices are usually fairly comparable, but check a few things before you purchase them. See how much you are really getting. Some sites may be cheaper, but they may be selling a lighter weight. Also be aware of the quality of the seeds. For example, heirloom seeds produce the best tasting tomatoes. There are also a lot of different types of the same vegetable. Be sure you are comparing the exact same vegetable or you will not get an accurate picture.

Have an idea of the type of vegetables you would like to plant. Do you want an eclectic collection of classics and exotics. Are all organic vegetables your thing. Or do you just want an old fashioned vegetable garden with the staples of cooking in it. Whatever you choose, you can find a company that will cater to your preferences.

Make sure that you patronize a reputable vegetable seed company. If you are unsure about where to start, ask some of your friends where they purchase their seeds. If you know someone in the neighborhood who has a great garden, ask them where they get their seeds or if they have any recommendations. Another way to get tips is to join an online gardeners chat group. Gardeners are always willing to help someone who is looking for advice.

Starting a vegetable garden can be an immensely rewarding experience. Have fun with your vegetable garden, but dont forget the things we talked about. They can save you time and frustration later on. Buying your seeds from a reputable online company is a convenient and economical way to get your garden started.

by Dave Truman

Every gardener needs gardening equipment. At least that’s what we tell ourselves as we buy that new ultra-light shovel that’s on sale this week! The fact is, not every gardener has every tool they need and most of us make do with what we’ve got. Improvisation is the key here.

But if you are serious about growing a garden this year, there are several things you absolutely need to have. A shovel, a hoe and a rake are three of the basics. Pruning scissors are another valuable tool that you should add to your arsenal as soon as you can.

As the years wore on I found that I had indeed collected many an essential piece of gardening equipment, and now find to my dismay that my shed is full to overflowing with tools. The best ones that I have though are a very old pair of comfortable gardening gloves, and my trusty, old kitchen knife that I had brought out one day, and just never replaced.

If my pruning scissors aren’t handy, the kitchen knife takes their place quite well. If my shovel and hoe aren’t within reach, the tip of the knife usually does the job. And sometimes I don’t even go that far and just use my hands to dig the soil.

It probably sounds like a fairly sloppy way to go about your gardening, but every dedicated gardener knows that if you’re knee deep in the middle of something, the last thing you’ll want to do is to interrupt your work to fetch the proper gardening equipment from your shed.

Having said all that, some jobs really are easier with the proper equipment and it may be worth the time to fetch. One of my other favorites is the garden claw.

With two varieties available, one for standing work, and for closer work and therefore fitting in your hand, the garden claw makes your life easier. Stick the claw in the ground, give it a simple twist with your wrist, and pull out. It loosens soil easily, and as an added benefit you get to pull out your weeds with less hassle.

Really the key thing to remember about gardening equipment is that although we might want it, we don’t always need it. Besides it’s always a good thing not to get too attached to your gardening equipment, it makes life easier if you’re not always trotting back and forth between your work patch and the shed. Ultimately you’d not get too much done, (unless you’re using your handy garden claw!).

by Bob Dale

Simply put, photography is the taking of photographs. In a more technical sense, photography is a process wherein pictures are taken by capturing light on film or electronic sensor.

Photography can be a pursuit of pleasure or a pursuit of financial gain. Whether you do photography as a hobby for the sake of your own enjoyment or do photography as a professional pursuit, the quality of your photographs will influence how much benefit you get out of it.

Photographic technology has been rapidly advancing in recent years. During the film camera era, advances were slow. But in the digital camera era, the advances in technology have been rapid.

While the 35mm film SLR camera was an excellent photography device in the hands of a professional, the modern digital SLR cameras can provide nearly anyone with great photographs. “Once the 35mm film SLR camera was the camera to own but now, there are digital SLR cameras like the Canon Rebel Xti that give the photographer great results with less frustration than their film counterparts” says Minneapolis photographer Bob Dale.

Black-and-white photography, color photography, and digital photography are the three main styles of photography in use today.

Black-and-white photography is also known as monochrome photography. The early photographs and many photographs today are still in black and white. This type of photography continued to dominate for several decades even with the advent of color film, mainly because it was inexpensive and gave photographs that classic look.

It should be noted, however, that monochrome photos are not always strictly black and white; there are other hues as well based on the processed used. For instance, the Cyanotype process is used in monochrome photography that results in blue and white images, instead of black and white.

While mainstream color photography technology has only been around for several decades, color photography could be captured by scientists to some extent as early as the middle of the 19th century. Early color photography simply faded over short periods of time, but by 1861, James Clerk Maxwell managed to develop a permanent color photograph. These first color photographs were taken by three separate cameras capturing three separate colors.

It wasn’t until 1907 with the introduction of Autochrome that color photography took off. In 1932, Agfa introduced Agfacolor, a color film. In 1935, Kodak came out with Kodachrome, the first modern integrated tri-pack color film, which significantly simplified film processing. In 1963, Polaroid introduced the instant color film.

Digital technology now allows images to be captured in digital form. These images can be manipulated by other digital technology devices, rather than requiring manual film work. With a memory card, you can easily store thousands of pictures in digital form.

Digital photos can be displayed, stored, manipulated and disseminated electronically. They can be printed without having to undergo chemical processing; photos can be printed directly from the camera or from the computer to a laser, inkjet or thermal print on photo or regular paper.

Wedding photographers and portrait photographers find digital SLR cameras to be particularly indispensable. Photographs can be quickly printed out as proofs for customers to look over and make quick decisions about which photographs they wish to purchase.

Digital SLRs become particularly handy for wedding photography in varying lighting conditions where the digital camera can make adjustments for the lighting without the need for flash. It is also handy to be able to quickly review photographs during the event to make sure the photographer has gotten good pictures of the wedding guests, wedding dress, and wedding cake while the opportunity for retakes still exists.

Digital cameras have become very affordable. The prices of simple digital cameras have been continually dropping due to increased competition and decreasing electronic component prices. For less than $100, you can purchase a digital camera that will take good pictures of your family and friends without requiring much technical knowledge or skill in photography.

There is no reason why you can’t start with an inexpensive digital camera and then, if you enjoy it, move up to an advanced digital SLR camera later. You may find that before long you are earning a living from your digital photography.

Hand quilting can be a great way to relax and create something that can be passed down generation to generation. Beginner hand quilting is the best place to start. Even though it may seem simple, quilting is not as easy as it looks. The best thing to do when learning how to quilt is to begin with beginner hand quilting techniques.

Beginner Hand Quilting Techniques

There are some beginner hand quilting techniques that everyone should learn when they are first starting out. The first beginner hand quilting technique to learn is how to put the various pieces together. This is the first of the basics of quilting. Once the basics of cutting, putting the pieces together and matching everything up have been learned in addition to how to put everything together to make the entire project it is time to learn the basics of the stitches involved.

There are a few basic stitches that belong with any hand quilting. The first would be the hem stitch. For those that are not aware a hem stitch is used to create a hem or a finish to the edge of something. This is usually used on the edges and can be used when placing two pieces together.

For the designs inside quilting blocks, a variety of stitches can be used. Usually you will see back, straight, cross, outline, French knot and satin stitch. These are the most common stitches used to create the borders and designs found inside the quilting blocks themselves.

These stitches take time to learn so it is a good idea to do practice pieces and samplers before working on the actual project. This will help to ensure that the stitches on the project themselves is done well.

If you need assistance in getting started, there are a number of books that can provide detailed diagrams of the various steps necessary to work a beautiful piece of art. If books are not your thing the internet has a wonderful set of sites and resources that can provide you with a huge set patterns, diagrams, tips and tricks to making a quilt the first time around.

If you are a beginner in the world of quilting or sewing then it is a good idea to consider the fact that there are classes available that can help you in learning the various aspects of quilting. These classes can usually be found at your fabric and craft supply store.

If you plan to grow more than one or two plants at a time, chances are most of them will be foliage plants. Though they aren’t as showy as the flower bearing varieties described in the last chapter, foliage plants can also be quite beautiful. In addition, they are simple to grow, easy to propagate and acclimate well to nearly any indoor environment.

Foliage plants are the backbone of every home garden. With few exceptions they know no seasons, growing and prospering throughout the year. Thousands of species of foliage plants are common and easy to find, and a large number of hybrids extends this variety even further. While planning your indoor garden you have almost an unlimited choice of plant size and shape, leaf form and colour. The two species described here will grow in any part of the country with equal ease and are available everywhere.

Peperomia sandersi is one commonly cultivated Peperomia. It has been called the Watermelon Begonia because the distinctive colour and striped pattern of its leaves resemble the watermelons found in the American south. As the leaves of this plant are smooth, shiny and oval-shaped and the stems are red or pink, how it acquired the nickname Begonia is a mystery.

Peperomia is a low growing, bushy plant with fleshy leaves and stems along with being an indoor house plant. Originally found in the jungles of Brazil, these plants like lots of warmth and humidity and dislike exposure to wind or even slight drafts. Place them in partial shade, being careful not to give them too much sun, and provide them with plenty of water and good quality plant food. To keep your Peperomia happy, give it only room-temperature water. Propagate it by stem or leaf cuttings, preferably in the spring when the growth rate is at a maximum.

Pick-a-back Plant, also known as Piggy Back Plant (or by its botanical name, Tolmiea menziesi), gets its name from the curious way that it propagates: new plantlets sprout from the joint where the leaf meets the stem on the parent plant. The pretty, heart-shaped leaves of this species are light green, delicate and grow at the end of long stems. Pick a-back Plant should be well watered and kept in only partial sun.

In its natural state the plantlets root as soon as they touch the ground, so propagation is simple: just place a new leaf-bearing plantlet in a starting mixture and allow it to root. If you prefer you can place the plantlets in water, but be sure to used purified water. A good way to do this is to treat it with dissolved charcoal. The Pick-a-back originates on our own West Coast, growing from California on up to Alaska.

The market for the digital SLR camera is growing rapidly. The IDC report titled 2007 Worldwide Digital Camera Market Share Review pointed out that digital SLR cameras accounted for 7.5 million of the 131 million digital cameras sold. It is no surprise that such big brands as Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Sony led the way in total digital SLR camera sales. Canon and Nikon alone account for about 80% of the digital SLR market. Sony and Olympus account for another 12% of the market.

The IDC report showed that Canon had been running alone atop the digital SLR camera market, but Nikon closed the gap, thanks to such popular models as the Nikon D300 and the Nikon D40x. In Japan, Nikon surpassed Canon in total digital SLR camera sales. “Nikon has always been the strong leader among professional photographers” says Minneapolis photographer Bob Dale.

Digital SLR, also known as dSLR, describes a camera with a digital single lens reflex. Single lens reflex describes the path light that travels through the lens to a mirror, which forwards the light to a viewfinder.

Basically, the light coming through the lens is reflected by a mirror, which is at a 90-degree angle, and it is then reflected by the pentaprism. When a picture is being taken, the mirror swings in an upward motion and the shutter opens. This action causes the light to be projected from the lens onto the image sensor.

These intriguing cameras come from a variety of companies. In addition to Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Sony, you can also choose from some other popular brands such as Panasonic and Pentax. These brands were once the same brands that were known as powerhouses of the 35mm film SLR camera marketplace.

Canon is known for producing cameras of the highest quality. One of the best lines of Canon digital SLR cameras is the Canon EOS. The Canon EOS digital SLR camera gets good reviews for picture quality, options, and ease of use.

The digital SLR cameras in the Canon EOS digital series boast of the 10.1 megapixel CMOS technology that produces digital pictures of outstanding quality. Other Canon digital SLR cameras that have this technology are the Canon 30D, Canon Rebel XTi, and all the other Canon Digital Rebel cameras.

You will generally find Canons at the top of digital SLR camera review lists. Whether these reviews are compiled by Canon owners or by product testers, the results tend to favor Canon digital SLR cameras.

Nikon is another respected manufacturer of digital SLR cameras. The recent Nikon D series of digital SLR cameras has carried on the strong reputation for Nikon cameras as being among the best in the world.

The Nikon D300 is the top of the Nikon D series line. With the Nikon D300 you get a large LCD screen to look at in place of the viewfinder. With a price at about $1,700, this is a good entry-level professional digital SLR camera. It is a good investment for those who need to take high quality digital photos.

For those who don’t need all of the professional features of the Nikon D300, the Nikon D40 is an excellent, budget alternative with a price of $450 to $650. You will get great shots with this 6.1 megapixel digital SLR camera. It features a compact design for people on the go. “It’s a super choice for doing travel photography” says professional digital photographer Bob Dale.

For the casual digital photography enthusiast, the Nikon Coolpix P5100 consistently gets high reviews among simple digital SLR cameras. While it has manual control, its automatic zoom, focus, and exposure options make it easy for anyone to use. It also features a large LCD screen to help you see what you’ll get before you shoot the picture. The Nikon Coolpix P5100 is surprisingly affordable for a digital SLR, with prices ranging from $200 to $300.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC line of digital SLR cameras is one of the best values on the market. From 2001 to 2007, Panasonic produced over 60 Lumix DMC digital SLR camera models, with the last of that era coming with 10.1 megapixels and a 12.5x zoom standard on each camera.

Most experts agree that Panasonic digital cameras are easy to transport and take great digital photos. For the camera buff who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a good quality camera, set your sights on any of the Panasonic Lumix DMC cameras. These cameras cost $400 and below.

Pentax digital SLR cameras are well-regarded in the photography community. Pentax has been a respected name in SLR photography since the 35mm camera. Pentax continues its tradition of earning respect in the digital SLR community.

Pentax digital cameras are of high quality and come in a variety of models that range from the entry level SLR to professional models. Some of the better models are the K series and the Optio series. Both of these Pentax digital SLR series of cameras offer users great photographs and a variety of options commonly found on the most popular digital SLR cameras.

You have far more options in digital SLR cameras than can be discussed here. Whatever your price range, if you do a little research, you can find a digital SLR camera that will take quality pictures for you. Price and features are the main variables when you compare your digital SLR options.

When you’re shopping for a digital SLR camera, make sure that you look into battery life, replacement cost and storage media. It’s a good idea to buy the largest memory card you can afford. After all, there’s no point in you spending all that money for large megapixel technology if you have no place to store all those digital photos.
Digital SLR cameras are becoming very popular. According to a 2007 IDC report, there were about 7.5 million digital cameras sold. Canon and Nikon cameras dominated the digital SLR market, with Olympus and Sony taking up a large portion of the leftover market-share. In fact, Canon and Nikon accounted for approximately 80% of the total digital SLR camera sales, Sony and Olympus accounted for about 12%, with Panasonic and Pentax also having significant digital SLR camera sales.

Further in the IDC report, Nikon emerged as a strong competition to Canon, thanks to Nikon introducing digital SLR cameras like the Nikon D40x and the Nikon D300. In fact, the IDC report states that Nikon replaced Canon as the number one digital SLR camera brand in Japan in 2007. “Nikon has always been a strong preference among professional photographers” says Minneapolis photographer Bob Dale.

Digital SLR, also known as dSLR, describes a camera with a digital single lens reflex. Single lens reflex describes the path light that travels through the lens to a mirror, which forwards the light to a viewfinder.

In other words, there is light coming in through the lens, which is then sent by a mirror placed at a 90 degree angle to the pentaprism. When you take a picture, it is as simple as the mirror being lifted to allow the shutter to open. The light then is captured by the image sensor behind the shutter instead of being reflected by the mirror.

If you’re looking to buy a digital SLR camera, you’ll have plenty of choices. The most popular brands today are Canon, Nikon, Panasonic and Pentax. It’s not a coincidence that these manufacturers are also the top manufacturers of 35mm film SLR cameras.

Canon has long been known for the quality of its cameras. Currently, the Canon EOS line of cameras is among the best lines of digital SLR cameras on the market. It consistently earns high praise from consumers for being simple, having plenty of options, and providing great pictures.

The Canon EOS digital SLR cameras take high resolution pictures of up to 10.1 megapixels. In fact, the Canon 30D and Canon Digital Rebel camera series also provide you with 10.1 megapixels.

At the top of the Nikon D series is the Nikon D300 digital SLR. It features a large LCD screen to show you what your picture will look like before you take it and what your picture looks like after you take it. But the price of the Nikon D300 is currently running at about $1,700. If you are looking for professional quality digital photography, this digital SLR camera is a good choice.

If you’re a novice digital photographer or you want a less expensive Nikon digital camera, there’s the Nikon D40, which has a 6.1 megapixel that is just perfect for most users. It has a compact design too, making it ideal for those who don’t want to carry a clunky camera around. You can get this digital SLR anywhere from $450 to $650. “It’s a great choice for doing travel photography” says professional digital photographer Bob Dale.

Still there’s the Nikon Coolpix P5100, one of the top rated digital SLR cameras in the point-and-shoot category. This camera has both automatic and manual control (zoom, focus and exposure), making it ideal for casual photographers. It has a 2.5-inch LCD display that you can use when setting up your shots instead of the viewfinder. This digital SLR camera retails between $200 and $300.

If you want an affordable digital zoom camera, go with any of the Panasonic Lumix DMC cameras. Panasonic introduced the first in its Lumix DMC series in 2001 and since then has come out with over 60 models with 1.9 to 10.1 megapixels and zoom capabilities between 10x to 12.5x.

Panasonic digital cameras in general tend to be portable and reliable for taking pictures on the go. With most new models being in the $400 range, the Panasonic Lumix DMC cameras provide good pictures without requiring a big photography budget.

Pentax digital SLR cameras are well-regarded in the photography community. Pentax has been a respected name in SLR photography since the 35mm camera. Pentax continues its tradition of earning respect in the digital SLR community.

You can purchase Pentax digital SLR cameras for either casual photography or professional photography. The Pentax K lined of digital SLR cameras and the Pentax Optio line of digital SLR cameras both get good reviews. With these Pentax lines, you will get good digital photos and you can expect the standard sets of features found on modern digital SLR cameras.

As you can see, there are a lot of fine digital SLR cameras on the market. There are good digital SLR options for just about any serious amateur or professional photographer’s budget. Basically, it comes down to a trade off between what features you need and how much you want to pay.

Among the additional considerations you’ll have for your digital SLR camera decision are flash media types, warranties, battery replacement costs, and battery capacity. The only firm recommendation would be that your flash memory unit should be able to hold at least 1,000 photographs at your camera’s top resolution. If you’re going to spend a lot for a camera, you ought to be able to take all of the photographs you want and rest assured that they’ll be of the highest quality.

by Dave Truman

Most people tend to picture vegetable gardens as sprawling plots of land with rows stretching 15 feet or more. Growing vegetables in a container or limited space seems foreign to many.

Growing vegetables in a small space is not only possible, but very rewarding as well. You can grow tomatoes in pots on the edge of your patio, watermelons alongside your driveway or beans on a trellis on your apartment’s balcony.

A space no larger than a card table can supply you with vegetables year-round. The trick is to create a garden that has the right growing conditions and to buy seeds that are well suited to smaller areas.

Luckily a number of seed companies have responded to the newly recognized demand for miniature or compact plants, and more new strains are being offered to the public every year, often grouped together under such headings as “space savers,” “space misers” or “midgets.”

Producing vegetables on a reduced scale, however, is basically a different proposition from other kinds of gardening. Small gardens devoted to woody ornamentals like dwarf conifers, rhododendrons or heathers or to miniature bulbs or alpines are arranged and managed largely for appearance: they exist to be decorative, to please the eye.

Vegetables are most often grown to reward not the eye but the palate. So while corn stalks and bean bushes can make the mouth water they rarely make the eye pop, and they are not likely to be found gracing a well designed border, although creative horticulturists have combined a few of the handsomest vegetables with flowering plants to good effect.

One of the challenges with a small vegetable garden is practicality. While some vegetables, such as lettuce, will be fine with only 4 hours of sunlight a day, most others require a full 8 hours.

A proper soil mix is also important, along with the right fertilizer. It can be too much for some dwarf plants, however and can make them grow beyond the space they’re given. Plus, you need to turn the soil in your vegetable garden annually. This kind of tilling can’t be done in some small spaces.

In spite of the challenges, growing vegetables in a small space is worth the effort. You’ll need to decide whether you want miniature fruit or just miniature plants. Small vegetables are cute, but often not so practical. There are some that are widely used though - cherry tomatoes and radishes are two perfect examples.

There is a lot to love when it comes to quilting, as it is an excellent way to pass the time away along with being able to tell a story through fabric. More and more people are starting to see the many benefits of quilting and want to start their own. For those who do not have someone like a grandmother or mother to teach him or her how, they may find themselves at a loss. It is important not to let go of that dream and to find other ways to learn how. For the beginner in quilting, there are many things that can be done in order to learn this wonderful skill.

There are currently a lot of different books for the beginner in quilting hitting the Internet and store shelves on a daily basis. These books can help walk someone through how to make a quilt. It is generally the easiest though if the beginner in quilting already has some sort of a rough idea about quilting. This would help make sure that they pick up on everything quickly and correctly. For those who really do not know one single ounce about quilting, there is always the option of taking a class that is set up for the beginner in quilting.

Finding Classes

A good place to start looking is at your local scrap booking or crafts store, as sometimes these stores will hold classes on certain subjects. There is generally a fee for coming to the class but the fees generally are not that large at all. And the amount of information and hands on experience that you get within these types of classes cannot be beat. The classes are usually year round so you should not have too much trouble finding one that can fit within your particular schedule.

If you cannot find a class for the beginner in quilting that way, you could always stop down at your local library as they generally have billboards for advertisements set up. You can find a lot of interesting things for sale there along with different classes that are being offered throughout the area. This is worth a shot because between those two places you are bound to find a class for the beginner in quilting within no time. Once you get started you will see that it is really easy and you will start to wonder why you did not begin something like this before.

Our fascination with capturing images started thousands of years ago. Prior to the invention of the camera, early man tried to capture images through paintings and drawings. The images, of course, weren’t exact mirrors of the subjects; they were mostly a reflection of the skills of the painter and his interpretation of his subject. Minneapolis photographer Bob Dale says “With the introduction of the camera, though, we can now capture our subjects in their exact likeness through photographs.”

Photos (or photographs) are images created when light falls on photographic film or electronic imager (e.g., CCD or CMOS chip). To create a photo, you would need a camera. Photography is the process of creating photographs.

Photos can be non-digital and digital. Non-digital photos are those that are produced using a camera that has film. The images in the film are then printed in photo paper, and this process is usually done in a dark room.

A quality digital camera can enable you to take impressive photos. But even if you’re into photography as a hobby, it would be to your advantage if you try to learn a few basic photo composition principles and techniques. This way, you’ll be able to take more interesting photos.

Canon, Nikon and Fuji are three of the top names in the digital camera market. If you want to be able to take great photos, you can accomplish just that by using any of these digital cameras: Canon EOS series (e.g., Canon EOS 5D, Canon EOS 30D and Canon EOS 40D), Nikon D80 and Fuji S5.

If you want a digital camera that takes quality photos, you can’t go wrong with a Canon. The digital cameras in the Canon EOS series are setting the standard in digital photography. These are considered
